Daria Mochly-Rosen, PhD

With five architects in her close family, Daria Mochly-Rosen, PhD, thinks of the cell as a physical space. This understanding has helped her lab understand the mechanisms that govern how a cell responds to stress. Several compounds developed in her lab are currently in clinical trials to help patients with myocardial infarctions or severe pain. She is the George D. Smith Professor of Translational Medicine, a professor of clinical and systems biology, and the senior associate dean for research.
