Vijay Pande, PhD

Vijay Pande, PhD, uses supercomputer modeling to examine the mystery of how proteins fold and reach their final 3-D configuration. His work sheds insight onto treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and a variety of other conditions. He is a professor of chemistry, structural biology, and computer science and directs the novel Folding@home Distributed Computing project, which uses donated computer time from people around the world to solve complex problems.
