    Partners in Medicine Reception

    Leading the Biomedical Revolution

    On April 29, 2014, Stanford University Medical Center Development held a reception for donors to Stanford Medicine and its annual funds—Hospital Partners, Med Fund, and Cancer Discovery Fund—at Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club in Menlo Park. The focus of the evening was to thank our generous Partners in Medicine donors for their support, and to share Stanford Medicine’s aim to lead the biomedical revolution.

    Health Matters is a free community event focused on the latest advancements, technology, and innovations around your and your family’s health.  This year's event included speaker sessions about how to sleep better, exercise smarter, and manage the health of your family, from the youngest to the oldest.

    Programming topics included:

    • Sports-related concussions
    • Brain Health
    • Big Data
    • Sleep
    • Mental Health
    • Nutrition

    The program featured keynote speaker Siddhartha Mukherjee, MD, PhD, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer.

    This family-friendly event also included an interactive health pavilion featuring health screenings, demonstrations, nutritional information, and much more. High school students participated in Med School Morning, a unique opportunity to experience a day in the life of a real medical student.
