How to Give
Our team stands ready to help you explore your options and achieve the philanthropic impact you seek. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 650.725.2504 if you would like to speak to a member of our professional staff.
Stanford's secure website for giving is a convenient way to make a gift. Use the drop down menu on the giving page to select where you would like your gift to go.
By spreading payments over a period of time—typically not more than five years—pledges allow donors to make larger commitments and fulfill them at a comfortable pace.
Stanford's team of gift planning experts can help you select from a wide variety of tax-wise giving strategies. Learn more about the range of planned giving opportunities to fit your exact needs.
Gifts of Securities
Donors who choose to give appreciated securities can receive a charitable tax deduction for the full market value of the securities and avoid capital gains tax. Publicly traded securities held in a brokerage account may be transferred electronically to Stanford University.
Gifts made through any of the methods described above can be designated in honor or memory of a loved one or in celebration of a milestone event, such as a birthday or anniversary. If you chose to make a tribute gift on Stanford's secure Giving to Stanford website, please indicate the honoree in the Special Instructions/Other Designation field.
Many companies match the charitable gifts of their employees. To find out if your company offers a matching-gift program, please visit our database.
Honorary and Memorial Giving
If you would like to honor someone close to you or memorialize a departed one's legacy in a way that helps and heals others in need, please consider providing a gift to support one of Stanford's life-changing medical funds in their name. You can also encourage others to contribute by sharing the following language in your correspondence, media announcement, or obituary.
Thank you for your interest in designating Stanford Medicine to receive gifts in your loved one’s memory. To make gifts, you can direct people to the website https://makeagift.stanford.edu or ask them to make checks payable to “Stanford University” and send the check to:
P.O. Box 20466
Stanford, CA 94309-0466
They should note on the memo line of the check or online the name of the person being honored.
Please let us know if you intend for these gifts to be made towards a specific purpose. You can call or email Trish Telesco Morgan, Director of Stewardship, at email@example.com or at 650-498-6278 (or include your information here).
